Can You Sponsor a Resource for a Pastor?

We mentioned in our Manila E-quipper on November 30th that Emmanuel Baptist Church will hold their first ever Ministry Enrichment Seminar (ME-#1) in February. This training event will focus primarily on Discipleship and Practical Theology in an effort to encourage and enhance the ministry efforts of their people involved in church plants and various discipleship ministries.

I have been asked to seek out sponsors who might be able to help supply the pastors/attendees with much needed resources (ie: a study Bible and a ministry resource book).  We expect there will be 15 in attendance at February's ME-#1. We are presently setting up an Amazon.com book list.  Our hope is the books can be bought singly or as multiple copies and sent to a designated helper and address.  Then those books will be shipped or brought over to us in Manila.  We hope to  have this list set up ver soon.  If you would like to help and donate a Study Bible(s) or ministry resource book(s), then watch for our next email update for that opportunity.

Spotlight on a Seminarian!

One of my Homiletics students and now Revelation, Kemuel Rapsing, tends to spend time talking with me between classes. He is a talented young preacher and very conscientious about his studies.

Kemuel's favorite subject is Greek and Hebrew.  His brother Kenneth is also one of my students. Both are bright and enthusiastic seminarians with a solid grasp of God’s Word as the basis for our ministry and service.

Please continue to pray for Kemuel and Kenneth and all the other seminarians of BBSI as well. Thanks for praying!

Surprised by my Seminarians on Sunday!

These 3 young men showed up at Emmanuel Baptist for Sunday services. They stayed in town this weekend due to the BBS&I choir concert in Makati on Sunday afternoon. From R to L are Jasper, Paul and Jerome.

Jasper graduated last March while we were still on furlough and works part time at BBSI with the music department. Jasper is especially covering choirs this year for Pastor Jared, because Jared is away working on a higher level degree in Thailand.

Please pray for these young men as they prepare and serve. Thanks for praying!

Emmanuel Baptist Choir at Christmas!

These wonderful people work really hard and it shows when they sing together. Sunday saw them performing a medley of Christmas Carols and I was personally blessed by that. I would ask you to pray for these inspirational members of EBC as they week in and week out provide music before every sermon, plus several special concerts each year. All are serving in this ministry and in other ministries as well. Thanks for praying!

And Now For Something Completely Different! - Pt. 2

This time it’s not balloons or a van but a trike and a load of plastic ware... buckets, toys, stools etc.

This thing was tied down right but it had a wheel out of alignment and so it “shimmied” down the road!  I felt bad for them. I hope they made it!!

Partnering for a Generational Legacy

Out of 2 Timothy 2:2 we find a premier related to the passing of the baton of ministry to the next generation...
"The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."

When you join us in prayer ministry and regular financial partnership, you are investing in a movement of equipping a new generation for Christ and thereby partnering in a legacy for future ministry in the Philippines and beyond.

The seminarians Robert equips at BBSI are training for their calling to serve with excellence. The missionary kids Kim works with at Faith Academy need an education and to be challenged with the truth of the gospel, even while their parents serve in ministries all over the Philippines.

We are presently down in support by about 5% of our needs, which is common after arriving to the mission field again even after a long and fruitful furlough.  To invest in this work, simply click the button to go to ABWE's secure online donation page.  There you can arrange automatic monthly support.  All support donations are tax-deductible.

Click on the Equip logo and you will be directed to our website to know more about the vital ministries we are involved with in Manila and beyond.  It's been said that the Philippine Islands are the "gateway to Asia". Well, in regards to the gospel being taken to Asia that could very well be true as many young Filipino men and women are preparing for ministry even as missionaries in other Asian countries.  They need our prayers!  We need to help prepare them.  Click on the button to see my new ministry blog..."THRIVE!".
